Abstract: In this paper, national trends in pricing and discounting (including some very recent price reductions at private institutions) are discussed. Representatives from York and Cedarville discussed the advantages and disadvantages of their pricing/discounting structures, presented their approaches to marketing price and discount, and shared their recent enrollment results. Although both York and Cedarville are private institutions, public institutions will find value in this paper, given that the economic climate is forcing many of them to substantially increase price to their in-state students.
